Next-gen SAP Ariba is SAP's completely rebuilt, AI-native source-to-pay platform. It runs on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and brings unified real-time data, Joule AI agents, a single intake front door and a Fiori-based launchpad to procurement teams.
What makes it “next-gen”?
SAP did not simply refresh the screens of the existing SAP Ariba modules. It re-architected the suite so that AI, data and user experience are built in from the start rather than added later. In practice that means:
- AI-native: Joule, SAP's AI copilot, and purpose-built AI agents are embedded in procurement workflows.
- One platform: sourcing, contracts, buying, invoicing and supplier data sit on a shared SAP BTP foundation.
- Open and connected: open APIs and native integration with SAP Cloud ERP (SAP S/4HANA).
- Simpler to use: one Fiori launchpad replaces many separate screens.
Why it matters
